Folksonomy & Twitter

My the last 2 months have flown by! The idea of Folksonomy is attractive but I just can't get into it. Every time I sit down to do some work on my De.licio.us account I become overwhelmed with the volume of data there. I'd like to re-organize an re-tag a lot of stuff but it's just so time consuming. My other issue with De.licio.us is that it is so easy to get side tracked. I'll sit down to add tags or whatever and end up an hour later completely lost on other people's info. One link leads to a couple more etc. and I end up with 10 or more browser tabs open. Interesting and frustrating at the same time. I truly don't know where people find the time... Meebo is another thing that looks interesting. I use both AIM and MSN, so maybe Meebo would be a good thing? Or maybe not, I don't need or want another account to check. I use AIM to have video chats with my Dad, who's off traveling in Europe but that's about it. I chat occasionally with my sister and daughter using MSN, but only because they message me (usually). As much as I like and enjoy technology, I really can't get in to this "new wave"... Oh no! I think I just got old ;-)

I'd checked out Twitter a while ago (some friends use it) and was really, well, almost shocked. Many people seem to use it to see what their friends are doing *right now*, like blogging taken to the extreme. All I could think was "when do these people do their work or see their families?" The hpllearning site at least makes sense to me as a tool that could be useful. But I'm still not interested.

...and older and older...
